Elton Reservoir walk

Elton Reservoir is located to the southwest of Bury town centre and north of Radcliffe. It’s 12ml (30min drive) from Manchester.

Elton Reservoir is surrounded by walking paths, providing a peaceful and scenic setting for a stroll.  The reservoir is also a lovely place for a picnic and a walk with your dog.

The reservoir provides scenic views of the surrounding landscape and offers bird-watching opportunities. It is a great place to enjoy nature and observe wildlife.

The reservoir is also known for its fishing opportunities. Anglers may find a variety of fish species in the reservoir. It’s advisable to check local regulations and obtain any necessary permits before fishing.

There is also a sailing club providing sailing lessons.

There is a free car park on-site, however on the day of the visit it was closed and available for members only, so we had to park on the street and walk down to the reservoir.
